Not My President's Day Rally Recap, Ages of Activism Event

Feb. 16 Updates

Recap: Not My President's Day

Despite the dreary weather, more than 200 patriots showed up for the “Not Our President’s Day” rally on the square in Hagerstown. We waved flags, held signs, and chanted, “Hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go!” Check out the gallery below.

Ages of Activism

Feb. 22 | 2–4 PM
Eliza’s House — 35 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown

A conversation across generations.

Join us for Ages of Activism, a community gathering designed to bridge the communication divide between younger and older generations. We’ll share experiences, wisdom, and fresh perspectives while exploring how people of all ages can work together for meaningful change.

We’ll also include a fun collaborative activity to practice working together and leave with practical tips for improving generational communication. Whether you’re new to activism or have decades of experience, your voice belongs here. Together, we’ll talk about what motivates us, how different generations communicate and organize, and how shared values can turn into positive community action.

Come ready for great conversations across all generations — all ages are welcome.

Voter Registration Training

The Board of Elections is hosting a Voter Registration Volunteer training on Feb. 25 at 5 PM at their offices. The state encourages volunteers to retrain each election cycle — please share the Google Form at the link below with your network.

MoCo IRC is offering a two-session training Saturday, Feb. 28 from 11 AM–4:30 PM. One session covers ICE Watch and the other Community Care (attend one or both). Lunch provided. Need a ride? We have drivers available. To receive a link to the registration, click the button below.

Advocacy — 287(g) Ban Legislation

SB245 and HB444 passed their chambers Feb. 3 and were sent to the Governor Feb. 12 as emergency legislation. If signed, the ban takes effect immediately and existing agreements in eight Maryland counties must end by July 2026.

Community Care

We’re currently helping a young mother connect with free online English classes — one example of how simple connections make a real difference. Interested in helping? Email Donald.
