The People's Mic Protest
Join us Tuesday, June 30 at 9:00 AM outside the Board of County Commissioners meeting at 100 W. Washington St., Hagerstown.
At this meeting, the Commissioners will vote on a six-month study of the impacts of data centers in Washington County. Come make your voice heard on both data centers and the proposed ICE detention warehouse.
Want to speak at our protest? We'd love to hear your voice! Give a short speech, read a poem, sing a song, offer a prayer, or share your thoughts. Sign up for the People's Mic here: bit.ly/4b2QzKn
Also This Week:
Stand with Howard County
Our neighbors in Howard County are fighting a proposed ICE detention facility in Elkridge, and they need our support. Join us Wednesday, July 2 outside the Garmatz Building in Baltimore for a rally at 8:45 AM, followed by the 10:00 AM court hearing as we pack the courtroom in solidarity.

Immigration Activism Update
Federal Judge Blocks Immigration Records Subpoenas
A federal judge in Minnesota has blocked six grand jury subpoenas seeking years of state and local immigration records as part of the administration's Operation Metro Surge, the largest civil immigration enforcement operation in DHS history.
Legal experts say the ruling reinforces an important constitutional principle: under the 10th Amendment, the federal government generally cannot force states or local governments to carry out federal immigration enforcement. The decision is being viewed as an important reminder that constitutional protections and checks on federal power still matter.
As challenges to immigration enforcement continue across the country, this case underscores the importance of staying informed, speaking out, and supporting communities affected by these policies.

Pens to Power
Our next Pens to Power writing event will be held on Sunday, July 26, from 1:00–4:00 PM.
We'll continue preparing for our fall general election voter outreach campaign, and as always, we'll be collecting donations for Western Maryland IRC and/or Eliza's House. If you're able, please bring non-perishable or microwaveable food, rice, peanut butter, bread, jelly, or personal hygiene items.
Please RSVP to alicejimroberts@gmail.com for the address and to help us plan seating and supplies.
Help Us Beat the Stamp Hike
Forever Stamps increase by 4¢ each on July 12, so we're trying to stock up before prices go up. Every donated stamp helps us stretch our budget for this fall's large-scale voter mailing campaign.
- Mail stamps to:
Washington County Indivisible P.O. Box 87, Clear Spring, MD 21722
- Or Donate through our ActBlue account.
Thank you for helping us reach more voters this fall!

Resilient Resistance Resources
Although we've postponed our Resilient Resistance gathering, we still want to support one another as we navigate the emotional demands of this work.
Our friends at Trauma Specialists of Maryland, Delaware & Pennsylvania have generously created a guided meditation specifically for activists. Led by a clinical director specializing in trauma, it explores why activism can leave us feeling emotionally and physically drained, then gently guides listeners through a meditation designed to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and restore resilience. We hope you'll take a few minutes to give yourself this gift. Watch the meditation here.
We've also included three quick reference guides below with practical tips for mindful mobilization, stress reduction, and building sustainable resilience. We hope you find them helpful as we continue this work together.
