What a Day! No Kings Takes Over Public Square!
What an incredible turnout for Saturday's No Kings: Power to the Polls! Hagerstown Public Square came alive with music, chanting, sign waving, community art and inspiring speakers of all ages.
The ACLU and Donuts + Democracy connected with voters, shared information, handed out T-shirts and gave away eight dozen Krumpe's donuts!
The event focused on helping remove barriers to voting, sharing election information and bringing the community together. A huge thank-you to everyone who participated, volunteered, performed and helped make the day possible!
What's Next After No Kings?
Saturday's event was part of a nationwide mobilization that organizers say included more than 3,000 events across the country and beyond.
With the election approaching, No Kings is offering an online training focused on election protection and ways to stay engaged in the coming weeks.

October 27: Community Hearing on Proposed Data Center Annexation
Hagerstown City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 27, at 7 PM concerning an annexation petition — most likely for a Data Center — submitted by Diversified Capital LLC.
The hearing will give the company an opportunity to present information supporting its petition and potentially share its plans for the property. According to information shared with WCI, the mayor indicated that the company had not yet provided those plans to city officials or staff.
This is an important opportunity for the community to show up and make its concerns known. Residents have questions about the proposal and how the process has been handled, and those questions deserve clear answers.
Whatever your political affiliation or position on the proposal, this is an opportunity to come together as neighbors, hear what is presented and demonstrate the importance of transparency and public accountability. LET'S PACK CITY HALL!! Pack the meeting, pack the hallway, be outside...numbers matter, and we need to pull together as a community!

Don't Over-Vote!
The Washington County Board of Commissioners race has an important ballot detail this year: one candidate has withdrawn but will still appear on the ballot. And remember, voters may select up to five candidates in this race—not six or more.
Take a moment to review this helpful graphic before casting your ballot!
