Pens to Power — Get Out The Vote Mail Campaign

Primary election mailer campaign One of the most effective ways to create change is to help our neighbors vote. That’s why WC Indivisible is sending voter education mailers with information on:

  • Finding your polling place
  • Registering to vote
  • Mail-in voting options
  • Sample ballots
  • And plenty of encouragement to make a plan and vote!

We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers and supporters who have already stepped up. In just six days, we have:

  • 28 volunteers committed to writing and mailing 1,396 mailers
  • Received donations of 840 stamps
  • Raised $450 to help cover postage costs
  • Recruited 19 volunteers to join us on June 7 to write and prepare mailers before early voting begins

This response has been amazing—but we still have a long way to go. We currently have 2,266 more mailers to send, and we could reach even more voters with additional support. Want to help? Here’s how:

✍️ Write mailers from home: Complete this form to request materials.

📧 Join us in person on June 7: Email alicejimroberts@gmail.com to volunteer from 1:00–4:00 PM. (These events are productive and a lot of fun!)

💌 Donate for postage: Every stamp helps us reach another voter. Contribute here.

📣 Spread the word: Talk with your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Encourage them to register, make a voting plan, and show up at the polls. Together, we can increase voter participation and make sure every voice in Washington County is heard.

Update: Immigration Activism

On May 22, 2026, a federal judge dismissed all criminal charges against Kilmar Abrego Garcia. “We have said from day one that this case was nothing more than a political vendetta,” said Ama Frimpong, Chief of Services at We Are CASA.

This week, Wes Moore allowed the Community Trust Act and Data Privacy Act to become law, marking the culmination of years of organizing across Maryland. While we’re disappointed the Governor did not formally sign the legislation, by not using his veto power he allowed both bills to take effect.

Your community needs your help. Here are three ways to join your neighbors this week in supporting immigrant communities:

1. Support impacted families
Purchase needed items and ship directly for distribution:
Western MD IRC Family Support Registry

2. Attend a Training

Next WCI Rush Hour Resistance

We were rained-out last week but the forecast looks good for this Friday as we return to our summer hours of 4:30-6:00 PM.

Meet us on the Appalachian Trail bridge on Friday, May 29 at 04:30 PM to help set up, or stop by before 6:00 PM to wave. Our letters aren't waterproof, so we cancel if it's raining.

If you have any suggestions for the message, please send them ASAP! Keep it to 30 characters (including spaces) or less.

Email Dave Williams at dwilliams21783@gmail.com for more information.
