👑 No Kings 4 Is Coming—and We Need YOU!

We have big plans for No Kings 4 on October 17, but we can’t pull them off without our wonderful WCI community!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with safety, setup and breakdown, Donuts + Democracy, and more. We especially need:

• Safety marshals — brief training required
• Medics
• Donuts + Democracy volunteers
• Setup and breakdown helpers — we’ll need to clear the Square quickly for the event following ours
• Inflatable costume wearers! Yes, you read that correctly. We’re planning an inflatable costume dance party, so dust off that T. Rex, unicorn or whatever else is lurking in your closet and come dance with us. 😂

Protest at the BOCC Tuesday

Washington County Indivisible will join Hagerstown Rapid Response for a peaceful protest outside the Board of County Commissioners meeting calling for transparency surrounding a potential data center project at Martin Farm.

Recent reporting by Hagerstown Rapid Response has raised new questions about a confidential development presentation to County officials, nondisclosure agreements, and connections between the project team and the Martin Farm property, which has been marketed for data center development.

Bring a sign, bring a friend, and peacefully make your voice heard.

Peace Starts With Us: Join WCI at Fall Fest

Saturday, September 19 | 11 AM–4 PM | Hagerstown City Park

Come visit Washington County Indivisible at Table #51, along the road in front of the Hager House. Look for the International Day of Peace and Better Together–Community Connections signs!

We’ll be collecting diapers and baby wipes to support immigrant families, and kids and adults can help us celebrate the International Day of Peace by creating thank-you cards for first responders, teachers and others who make a difference in our community.

Stop by, say hello, make a card, drop off a donation—and bring a friend who might like to learn more about WCI!

It’s Time to Start Writing!

Sunday, September 20

The election mailer is ready to roll! This Sunday, Pens to Power volunteers will begin writing to local voters with the information they need to make their voices heard in the November election.

We need plenty of helping hands to get those mailers out the door! Join us for an afternoon of writing, good company and voter outreach as we work to make a difference right here in Washington County.

We’ll also collect donations for Western Maryland Immigrant Rights Collective and Eliza’s House. If you’re able, please bring peanut butter, jelly, bread, rice, microwaveable foods, personal hygiene items, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers or baby wipes.

Stamps Still Needed!

Our General Election mailer is getting closer, and we still need Forever Stamps to help get our message into voters’ mailboxes.

Bring your creativity and join us for an afternoon of protest sign making and community! We’ll provide the sign-making supplies — you bring yourself, some friends, and your ideas.

We’ll also be collecting food donations for the Western Maryland Immigrant Rights Collective to support local immigrant families. If you’re able, bring a donation along.

No artistic talent required. Come make something that says what you want the world to hear!

Here’s your chance to ask them yourself. At Candidate Speed Dating, you won’t sit in an audience listening to speeches—you’ll sit down face-to-face with local candidates for short, informal conversations about the issues that matter to you.

Weekly Food Donation Drop Off at Hub City Brewery

Can’t make it to one of our scheduled food drives? You can now donate anytime Hub City Brewery is open!

A WCI donation box is available Thursdays–Sundays, Noon–11 PM for food and essential supplies benefiting families supported by the Western Maryland Immigrant Rights Collective (WMD-IRC).

Just bring your donations to Hub City Brewery and drop them in the box. An easy way to help our neighbors whenever it works for your schedule.

Next WCI Rush Hour Resistance

Meet us on the Appalachian Trail bridge on Friday, September 18 at 4:30 PM to help set up, or stop by before 6:00 PM to wave. Our letters aren't waterproof, so we cancel if it's raining.
